The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announces a Plans Display and Project Presentation for the SR 2029, Section 04B Bridge Replacement project.
This project involves the replacement of the existing bridge carrying Limeport Pike, SR 2029 (BRKEY 23305) over Hosensack Creek in Lower Milford Township, Lehigh County with a Single Span Composite P/S Concrete Spread Box Beam Bridge. The existing structure is not currently posted. The proposed structure will have a 38’ span length with a curb-to-curb width of 28’. Within the project limits, SR 2029 is classified as a rural minor collector with a posted speed limit of 45mph. Full depth roadway reconstruction will extend approximately 100 feet from each end of the bridge with a short section of mill and overlay to tie into the existing roadway. New guide rail and pavement markings will be provided throughout the project limits and signing will be updated as necessary. The new bridge will not be weight posted.
The project will be constructed using a separate car and truck detour. The 1.9-mile car detour would utilize SR 2031 (Dillingersville/Zionsville Road) and SR 2027 (Kings Highway). The 12-mile truck detour would utilize SR 2031/4057 (Spinnerstown Road), SR 663 and SR 2027 (Kings Highway).
Construction is anticipated to begin in Summer 2027 and last for one construction season.
